get to know the blog

Hi i'm Peyton Smith! Well okay, that's not really my name but anonymity is key on this blog. Why? Because some family members might not exactly appreciate the humor of my situation. What's my situation you ask? As you can see on my other blog, the door was closed [which has no sexual connotation], that things were bad. I couldn't stand my roommate and transportation was going to be a problem. So my parents were trying to find a way to get be out of that situation.

That's when we came up living with my great grandparents! I seriously do love them, they are so stinking cute. Plus they are partially responsible for my existence. Plus they were 94 and 92 and they needed help doing little things now and I am so happy that I can help.

Since I was with them constantly they mostly occupied the blog, like stars. I like this movie analogy so let's keep it going, the co-star was DQ. Then in supporting roles we had critic and scrambler and also M7. If you have questions about who these people are you can visit the left side of the page while you are reading. But since I'm nice I'll let you meet them here.

GGm - short for Great Grama

GGp - short for Great Granpa

DQ - short for Drama Queen, referring to my Grandmother
who is GGp and GGm's daughter, my mom's biological mother

M7 - short for Mother of 7, referring to my mother's
stepmother. she is super cool

Critic - i don't have a acronym for her but she is my father's mother.
she is so critical of people, hence her nickname is critical

Scrambler - i don't have an acronym for him, but he is my
father's fatherhe loves to speak his own language,
that the rest of us try to understand

So in this analogy the people above would be the big names on the front of the DVD case. But there are also those other people that are kinda important, but aren't main story lines so i guess we'll call those people guest stars since they won't be on much.

SJ - he looks like SJ from blinside,
my aunt's son and one of DQ's grandsons

This started out as just them saying funny things but sometimes nothing happened and then I would feel bad that I had nothing to write. So I started adding meals to the blog, like a fun twist on food blog. I don't know really, it's just what it is.

I have recipes for the food, and what it looked like. I'm particularly excited because this is going to be a chance for me to refine my cooking abilities because when you live in an apartment you're not gonna make a big meal all the time. But when there are three of you, you will make bigger and better meals. Because one day I'll be cooking for my husband and kids and I would rather try them all out now.

Then in 2012 I moved back home to help my family out. And I didn't have anyone to write about. I was at least 900 miles from the nearest grandparent and didn't really have a need to cook since mom is a way better cook than me.

In late the summer of 2012 GGp died, he was 96. I was so grateful to know of the plan of salvation. It was his time, he had changed so much from when I lived with him. It was so hard to know he was suffering. I'm so glad he's with his parents in Heaven now.

Just a couple months later Critic and Scrambler moved in with us! We completely changed our lives around to make room for them. We all have our good and bad days. Just a week before they moved in, Mom broke a limb and threw all of us for a loop, since then I've been picking up the slack. Taking over her job and being the ambassador towards my grandparents. Her limb is still on the heal but things are getting back into a swing, and I have time to share my chronicles.
